2021 Judge William M. Marutani Fellows!
APABA-PA and the Philadelphia Bar Foundation are excited to announce this year’s Judge William M. Marutani Fellows, Livia Luan and Tue Ho.
Ms. Luan is a first-year law student at Temple University Beasley School of Law, where she is also a Beasley Scholar and a Rubin-Presser Social Justice Fellow. Prior to law school, she worked as a programs associate and executive assistant for Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC, supporting the organization’s immigration and technology, telecommunications, and media programs. Ms. Luan received her B.A. in Government from Georgetown University. This summer, she will serve as an immigrants’ rights intern for the ACLU of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Ho is a second-year law student at Rutgers Law in Camden, where he is the Vice President of APALSA in Camden, a Social Justice Scholar, and the student leader of the Rutgers Street Law program. Originally from South Philadelphia, Mr. Ho developed a passion for education and community health at a young age. He taught abroad in Vietnam and then returned to the U.S. where he received a Masters degree while working as a special education teacher in Kensington. This summer, Mr. Ho will intern at the Amistad Law Project.
