2019 Marutani Fellows
Congrats to our 2019 Fellows Nicholas Chan and Lisa Riley!
Nicholas is a second year law student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, pursuing a J.D./M.S.P.P.M. at Carnegie Mellon University Heinz College. Prior to law school, Nicholas worked as a regulatory compliance administrator with iTalkBB and completed an internship with the U.S. Department of State’s Foreign Service Institute. He received his B.A. in Government and Asian Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. Nicholas is a recipient of the prestigious Peggy Browning Fellowship. This summer, Nicholas will intern with our nonprofit partner Justice at Work.
Lisa is a third year law student at the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. Prior to law school, Lisa worked as a subrogation paralegal for Allstate Insurance Company. She received a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Neumann University. During her time at Villanova Law, Lisa has served as President of the Asian and Pacific Law Student Association and has completed internships with Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Jackson Cross Partners, LLC, and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania’s U.S. Bankruptcy Court. This summer, Lisa will intern with our nonprofit partner Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project.
