Elect Kristine L. Calalang, Esquire, for Vice Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association

APABA-PA is proud to announce our enthusiastic endorsement of Kristine L. Calalang, Esquire, for Vice Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association. Kristine is a long-time and dedicated member of APABA-PA. She serves on our Board and cochairs our Community Outreach and Solo and Small Firm Committees and had previously co-chaired our Lunar Banquet Committee.

For as long as Kristine has been an APABA-PA member, we have known her to be an active supporter and exceptional leader in the Philadelphia Bar Association. She has served in many Association leadership positions in the past decade, including being Chair of the Family Law Section and Co-Chair of Solo and Small Firm and Women in the Profession Committees. She has also been serving on the Association’s Board of Governors for the past five years and was the first Asian American Chair of the Board in 2022. In all of her leadership roles, Kristine brings her engaging and positive energy to encourage members to work together in furtherance of the goals of the respective organizations that she leads. Kristine values fellowship and service to the community and she exemplifies those values in her service. She also strives to encourage continuing education and discussions
about diversity, equity, and inclusion. In Kristine’s words, “It is very important for our legal community to engage in conversations about diversity, equity, and inclusion, as we are a community of people uniquely situated to have an immediate and significant impact on the lives of others. This is both an enormous responsibility and a great honor. Together we can enact positive change and be better advocates and counselors by striving to continue learning more about ourselves and about others and promoting cultural humility in our profession.” Kristine’s valuable contributions to these important conversations was recognized with her 2022 Professional Excellence Award for Diversity Initiative from The Legal Intelligencer.

APABA-PA encourages all members of the Philadelphia Bar Association to vote to elect Kristine to be Vice Chancellor, as she exemplifies the qualities of a true and inspiring leader, continues to work to elevate our legal profession, and will unite our legal community to move forward into a bright future together. Your vote will help secure Kristine as Vice Chancellor in this contested election. She would then rise to become Chancellor-Elect in 2025 and then Chancellor in 2026. Online voting begins on December 1 and extends through December 13 at 5:30 pm.
