CLE – Creating Safe Schools

As our nation faces multiple crises, school communities are grappling with questions around what a “return to normal” looks like, including for historically excluded students. In this CLE webinar, presenters will address how school communities can respond to incidents of discrimination, harassment, and bullying, as well as strategies to promote safety within school communities. Participants will learn about school districts’ obligations to protect the rights of students, including English learners and students with disabilities.
Our panelists will be:
- Jennifer Sang, Esq., partner at Berney & Sang whose practice focuses on education law, including special education matters.
- Anna Perng, parent and advocate for education, disability, and immigrant rights.
- Kenneth Hung, high school teacher, Central High School.
- Lin Lin, Aleena Tan, Jaira Marcos, all students at Central High School.
- Djung Tran, Esq., to moderate.
Mandarin interpretation will be provided, courtesy of Chinatown Disability Advocacy Project. Additional language access may be added.
