Rahat Babar Named One of NAPABA’s Best Under 40 Award Recipients!
APABA-PA would like to congratulate Rahat N. Babar, Esq. for being recognized as a one of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA)’s Best Under 40 Award recipients for 2018. The NAPABA Best Under 40 Award recognizes talented individuals within the Asian Pacific American legal community under the age of 40 who have achieved prominence and distinction in their fields of endeavor-be it the practice of law, academia, business, civic and charitable affairs, the judiciary, or politics-and who have demonstrated a strong commitment to Asian Pacific American civic or community affairs. The APABA-PA Nominations Committee nominated Rahat for this award.
Rahat is the Director of Community Engagement at the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, where as part of the Executive Leadership Team, he leads the Attorney General’s efforts to strengthen the office’s relationships with community leaders, faith leaders, and the public. Until his appointment as Director of Community Engagement, Rahat served as a Special Assistant to the Attorney General. Previously, Rahat served as an Assistant Section Chief in the Division of Law, practiced in a boutique corporate law firm, and served as a Deputy Attorney General in the Division of Law’s Litigation Practice Group. He is also a member of the Attorney General’s Diversity Council.
Rahat serves on NAPABA’s board as Northeast Regional Governor, co-chairs NAPABA’s Civil Rights Committee, and serves as a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Minority Concerns. He is a past-president of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Pennsylvania (APABA-PA) and continues to serve on its board.
